Oh. My. God.
It happened. I mean, for real, it actually happened!
I Met Hugh Jackman!
I MET HUGH JACKMAN!
Okay, it was only for a moment, BUT I MET HIM!
So, we had gone to New York to see a production of A Steady Rain with Hugh Jackman and Daniel Craig (both of whom were incredible) about a very intense friendship between two Chicago Cops. I mean, talk about an intense and incredible play. The topics that these two guys brought up and just the powerful performance they both delivered. This is not an easy play to swallow, by any means. I mean, some of the things that came out of Hugh's mouth, I could not believe! But they got more than a few gasps out of the audience, believe me.

After the show got out, my parents and I ran to the stage door, but the door was already CROWDED WITH PEOPLE! Some of whom hadnt even come to the show! They just showed up at the door hoping to see Hugh. I can understand wanting to see him, but it made me angry. We had actually seen the show and seen his work, they just came up off the street and were having him sign programs that werent even for his show! Looking back on it, maybe I shouldnt have been so angry, but My heart broke. There were so many people there I was certain I would never see him. I started talking to a very nice woman who told me how much of a fan she was a Hugh and how she had come to see the show Seven times! Talk about a die hard fan but I have no idea how she is still emotionally stable! I told her and another woman how important Hugh Jackman was to me and how I wanted to thank him for being in Van Helsing. They both told me to pass forward my show program and promised they would get me his autograph. XD
When Hugh did come out, I was crushed by all the people pushing around me to get a picture of Hugh. I was scared I wouldnt see him. Then, the woman whom I had been talking to before, God Bless her, got Hughs attention. As it turned out, he knew her by name thanks to all the times she had seen his show. She told him I wanted to thank him for something. I reached out my hand, he took it and I said:
Mr. Jackman, I know this sounds strange, but a movie you did once, Van Helsing, it really changed my life and you are a huge inspiration to me and thank you for being in that Movie.

( I was crying halfway though and people were Awwing and cheering. )
The most amazing part for me was Hugh looked genuinely touched, he even held my hand gently and smiled at me when I was done. I think he might have said Thank You or Youre welcome (I cant remember cause my mind was racing), but I remember the warm, genuinely touched look he gave me and how soft his hands were. Moments ago he had been playing this gritty, out of control Chicago cop... and now he looked so gentle and kind.
I would have liked to try to get a picture with him, but my parents told me we should move back so other people could get pictures. We moved back and after Hugh left, I went to the two women who had helped me say hello to Hugh and thank him. I hugged them both, crying and thanking them for their kindness.

Those are awesome ladies and may they be blessed with love and peace and joy and more sightings of Hugh forever! If you ladies are reading this, YOU ROCK!
My mom and I were crying after it was over, it was a very touching experience. We didnt get any pictures of him holding my hand, but I did get his autograph. Hugh Jackman is such a genuine, sweet, loving guy and I hope that one day I will be become a great actor and able to work with him on a play or a movie.
